This is pretty much close to what I'm trying to do. My book has been a lot on my mind of late and the story line has taken quite a few unexpected turns. The screenshots I have posted reflect one of those turns. The ships they use, in this case what I call a'state-of-the-art' Dragon Ship, have the ability to vary their cloaks opacity and make it ripple, wave and/or distort in any manner of form. Here its just a layer mask with a bit of over highlight I think. Somewhere down the line I'm hoping to animate the cloak to mimic that variability. Any thoughts or comments feel free to toss 'em out there.
