Off to the Superbikes today.
Text message says I'm posted at 1.1 right ...which is turn 1 [Doohan corner] at the end of the straight.....
...where terminal speed [for a Duke in the Moto] is 336 kph. The Supers are a little slower...but not that much...;)
The last fatality at the Supers meet was due to a run-off at 1.1 that ended with the rider entering the track again at 2.6 [after Southern Loop] just in time to be met by the entire field on lap one.
Hopefully there won't be a repeat...;)
Back again.
Quite enjoyed it....the track looks brilliant with its resurfacing....utterly bump-free.
Needless to say....speeds were higher...which meant falling off was more frequent than usual...considering the good weather.
BTW....top speed recorded was 320 .....and that's not to be sneezed at...;)

The new surface looks great, so glad they did it.
The only disappointment of the weekend was those bloody MV's.............
I looked for you, but didn't know where you were on the circuit.

Bryan...I was directly opposite the pit exit where it meets the track...and was signalling them as they came out to save them looking over their shoulders.
1.1 right.....1.2 right is the actual apex of Doohan Corner.
Yes, we had a few injuries [they're bikes after all] but thankfully nothing that required a coroner...;)
Cool.... I have recorded the races, so I will look back at the races and try to spot you....... My 8 year old thinks it really neat that I have a friend in Australia at "The Bikes"..... lol. He'll be really impressed if I can point you out to him!
I was gutted that Sam Loews didn't beat Sofhuoglu (or, Soft Wall Glue, as my daughter calls him) in the Supersport race.
