SINS is getting slow

Hi everyone,

When I play with sims after a while (1 hour) the game start to lag and slow down.

I have a 4 core i5 processor 3.3ghz and some pretty graphic card.

I have put all the graphics in low.

Can I do something else to make the game faster ?

Thanks,

Maybe try playing a smaller map, Sins can't use multi-core, only 1 core of them, and can't handle well large amount of ships, like a random vast 10 player map with full fleets of all empires.

If it occurred on a smaller map, like 4 players then there might be technical or software problems and I am not a technician so maybe others can get better answers for it.

That means that I should try to overclock one of my cores ?

Isn't a way to make SINS multithread ?

I don't know what overclocking means.. so I cant help in it. And no, Sins is hardcoded to be one core, and it can only use 2GB of RAM, and this is also hardcoded. Maybe others who know better computers will be able to get a better answer, maybe stardock members.

Download Tune-Up utilities and use a feature called turbo mode to make your computer perform faster.

http://www.tune-up.com/

Other elements include using an SSD drive (Samsung 840 series) to run the game and faster DDR3 memory of 1600Mhz + (This might only get you a 10% boost and tune up get me about 30%. As you can see the number add up once you use everything.

You could OC processor.....  GHz are what SINS craves after not multicore, hyper threading or insane amounts of RAM
