deskscapes 3.5 and windows 7

I waited for a few months to download the trial and now I do and the install went fine the program loads I can select themes and so forth when I activate one and return to my desktop it is black no icons or imagery...I wanted to purchase this software but cant untill I see it work successfully any idea what is wrong?
