Windows Eight?

I've been having difficulty running Galactic Civilizations ll Ultimate Edition on Windows Eight.

A day ago, it was working for about an hour before it'd shut down. Now, it won't even finish loading a save file before it shuts down. I've attempted to use compatibility mode to fix the problem, changing the settings, and whatnot, but none of it works.

Any tips?

Just tried something else. I can start a new game, however, it'll still shut down after about an hour.
