Weird question - can Start8 run on Windows 7?

I'm about to revert my work PC back to Windows 7 because of incompatibilities with some software I have to use.  There are aspects of it I'm going to miss (the file copy dialog mostly), but I'm also going to miss Start8, which (especially in 1.1) has features that make it BETTER than the built-in start menu.

So is it possible to run Start8 on Windows 7? I suppose I can wait until I do the re-install and try it to find out, but I'll be a lot more excited about doing the upgrade if I know I don't have to give up my custom folder menus on the right side.

Hi,

if you are expecting some compatibility issues than you can use some virtualisation (Virtual Box or hyper-V) to make older apps avalaible

BTW: if you have purchased Win 8 as an update to yout Win 7 licence, than your win7 licence is no longer usable
