Unable to register

Hi guys,

 i bought the game about 2 or 3 years ago. Now i just reinstalled it and wanted to try some online multiplayer. I guess i have to update to the newest version, right? So i clicked the download updates button within the game which brought me to "https://www.sinsofasolarempire.com/update". There is stated that i have to register the game within stardock. Luckily i kept the manual of the game on which the serial is printed. But when entering that serial in stardock it says "Invalid serial". Maybe the serial is to old? So what else can i do to enjoy some online gameplay?

Info: I bought the original game (no trinity or entrenchment)

Well that's exactly the page which states "Invalid serial". (See first post)

You're not switching around some numbers and letters are you? 1's and I's, 0's and O's?  I've seen the odd crappy print job that turned B's into 8's too.

No, i didn't. Solved the problem by myself now. I just used the hated GameStop-App, entered the same Serial there and it worked like a charm. But nevertheless thank you guys for trying to help me.
