Cant Pin to Start8 Menu

(But Unpin works)

(Running 1.09 latest Beta)

I installed Start8 as administrator and pin to Start8 menu works fine.

My son logs in as his id (which is also an administrator), and all features function properly EXCEPT pin to Start8 Menu.

I have verified that his pin folder exists and if I copy a file to the directory it INSTANTLY shows up on the Start8 Menu.

I can delete anything from the Start8 menu without a problem, only adding doesn't work.

For testing reasons, I granted full access to the folder to everyone (which shouldn't be needed. If delete works, create should too), and that didn't change anything.

Anyone have any ideas.

PS. Im very happy with Start8. I wish they would offer a home site license.

I've got the same problem since 1.03

And I totaly agree with the home site license.

Is your machine on a domain?

Also have you tried the 1.1 RC thats downloadable from here : https://forums.stardock.com/439140  You would need to reboot after installing.

Something else to try is if you drag an app thats in the frequently used list does that get pinned ok?

Regarding the home option, I have made sure to bring this to the attention of the prople that make the pricing decisions.  I cannot promise anything.

Out of interest what sort of price range would you be considering for a home site license?

I have a similar issue since the update but I can't pin only one application. That is The Bat! e-mail client. It also doesn't show up in the recently used application, no matter how many times I open it. Maybe because of the ! sign in the name?

If I install back the 1.03 version, the shortcut is already pinned, I don't have to do anything.

Regarding recently used applications, is the app also pinned to the taskbar?

Items pinned to the taskbar or start menu are automatically excluded from the recently used application lists.

It is curious that it wouldn't show as pinned on 1.1 but does in 1.03.  The other thing to check is does the target actually exist on startup or is it on some sort of network / encrypted drive that might not be ready initially.

The app isn't pinned to the taskbar. I don't have any network or encrypted drive. It was installed like every other app. The target is "C:\Program Files (x86)\The Bat!\thebat.exe".

I found a solution for this issue with The Bat!. I turned on the hide modern UI applications after the installation.  Now I turn it off and the shortcut is back, although it is not part of the modern apps.
