I've gone through the Start8 configuration including checking "Disable all Windows 8 hot corners when at the Desktop" but the charm bar won't stop popping out from righthand side and showing time/date in lower left corner. Is there some way to stop this?
Just google "Disasble charm bar in Windows 8" or something like that.
It can be disabled from the Windows, you don't need a Stardock product for this.
However, do bear in mind that if you have to follow Microsoft instructions for how to fix some problem on your machine, they point to how to get to different parts of the computer, by means of the charm bar only. If something is well hidden it might be very hard to find it in an alternative way; obscure functionality that you rarely use. I had disabled it and was literally a sitting duck because I simply couldn't find the alternative way to the functionality they were talking about.
This is the downside of disabling all the new Windows 8 stuff that you find irritating, and simply making it as similar to Xp as possible.
