Activation please

Have had to reinstall my laptop operating system when the raid 0 glitched, so changed to individual disks, and reinstalled.  Have installed win 7, and re-installed, a couple times because deskscapes started the infamous explorer crashing, and app crashing behaviors.  Put a support ticket in, but of course it's the holidays.  My re-installs were dirty, and to no avail, as the deskscapes errors persisted (and it was definitely something with deskscapes - when I uninstall it, everything works fine = office 10, steam and other games, quickbooks, outlook, etc,).  Finally, decided to try one more time, with a fresh format and reinstall, then installing deskscapes with minimum drivers (just intel chipset and network card drivers) and no updates.  So, at last the moment to run deskscapes (which I had no doubt should work, as it worked flawlessly on the same system previously when it was in raid configuration).....and first, can't write product activation, then maximum activations reached.  Can't express how frustrating that is.  Could someone in support please help?

I've reset the activation count.

Try running as admin once and see if that works.

I'm having a similar problem. After purchasing Fences, I couldn't activate it even after an uninstall, install, reboot - Can't write product activation. I filled a support ticket 2 days ago, no response. And now,  after I have tried uninstall, reboot, install, it says maximum activations reached. This is really confusing, could someone please help?

Whew, I finally activated it, real pain in the *** :S . I think you should make SDActivate.exe request elevated permissions, and when just logging in to your account to activate, restart fences and ask for elevated permissions. I tried starting Fences.exe with right click > Run as administrator, and when I simply login, Fences doesn't get activated. Now, if I press the "I have a serial number" button, it starts another process which is not run as administator, unless you check the mark "Run this program as an administrator" in the Fences.exe compatibility options, and not having correct permissions causes the "Can't write product activation" error, which should probably be changed to something like "Can't write product activation. Please run this program as an administrator", - it's not that hard to change it to something more meaningful. This is really frustrating, and also your support hasn't responded to my ticket in 3 days, but you manage to answer in the forums in just 3 hours, what's up with that? :)

I am support . . and we're workign as fast as we can with the tickets.  When you make amazing software sometime more people like it than you expect.

Sorry for the delay though.

In regards to the elevation . . for most users everything works as planned and things elevate properly.  Why they didn't in your case is a mystry at this point and likely due to something explicit in your config.
