A problem with corrupted files from steam client

My game has developed a problem I'm wondering if someone else has experienced and maybe solved.  I got the game from the Steam app, downloaded it and experienced relatively minor bugs.  On 12/24/12 the game started freezing.  Reloaded a auto save that was a couple of turns prior and it froze again immediately.  Went into steam and got the steam client to verify the game files and it found a corrupted file, redownloaded the file and it seemed to fix the problem.  The game started freezing again about 4 hours of game play later.  Went into steam, it found a corrupted file (same one it seemed), redownloaded it and things were smooth again.  This file keeps getting corrupted, sometimes its a few hours of gameplay before it becomes corrupted again and sometimes it happens within two or three turns of the steam client fixing it.  Anyone had this problem? Any guesses as to it being a problem with the game or with steam?? Any solutions to fixing it?

I'm posting to this old post in case someone else has this problem and happens across my post.  After about three days (maybe four) of the above routine with the corrupt file, steam replacing it with another that would later become corrupt ...... it stopped.  I cannot think of anything different I done that would have caused this soooo persevere fixing the file and hopefully you'll eventually have the same outcome.  I'm guessing it was something with my steam client ....... but idk.
