GUI Olympics

Unfortunately due to all the negativity that arose from the last GUIOlympics all future GUIOlympics have been canceled.

hmmm...I don't remember seeing anything like that. I didn't submit anything, so I guess I just wasn't exposed to it. Damn shame...lot's of great skins came out of that.

what negativity? the only controversy was with the public voting, and that was just a minor set back "it is a mere flesh wound" (says the black knight -- Monty Python and the Search for the Holy Grail). The great abilities and massed skins made for the Olympics were so revolutionary and so many of them, it made it more of a good thing. The winter olympics were filled with controversy but they aren't cancelled...

Essentially a future GUI Olympics would need someone else to run it. We can provide the site to use but in terms of promotion and IT work, someone else would need to do it.

The problem was, personally speaking, I spent far too much of my free time on it only to get almost constantly villified and attacked both profesionally and personally. The benefit of the GUI Olympics simply didn't outweight the downside.

Does anyone knows why the guiolympics website is always down and I'm not able to download anything from it?
