Fences 2 requires Aero to work.  If you turn it off it won't.

That wouldn't be a bug...it'd be a 'system requirement'...;)

It's an excuse.
You can see on your eyes that ordinary fences (not linking to folders) are displayed correctly
So technically, it's fixable.

I would believe you if it was occurs on all the fences.
I must say I was very surprised by this response. I expected to get a logical response.

I have a Lenovo laptop and i have energy management software. In my case, every time I set a "super energy saver" then this problem occurs.

So this is a serious problem for those who have a laptop ..

i don't recommend you to ignore so many people who have a laptop and from time to time want to save energy.

I loved the fences one .. But if this bug will not fixed (and this is bug) so I do not buy it.

Again, it is not a bug.  Typically you would receive a notice [when you disable Aero] along the lines of 'Fences folder portals requires Aero to function...please enable Aero'.

The only 'bug' associated with this was the unfortunate repetition of the same message - something the Devs are aware of and dealing with...;)

Just to be clear...it's Fences' Folder Portals that needs Aero, not 'normal' fences - hence your screenshot...;)

Just to confirm what Jafo is saying, this is not a bug.  The Folder portals feature requires the DWM to be enabled due to how the feature works.

It would be nice if that was not a requirement, but alas no suitable alternative method has been found.  Going forward with Windows 8 there is no longer any option to disable the DWM and so more and more applications are going to start assuming the DWM is enabled always.

Ok so who am I to argue with the developers of the software ..

So every time I do a "super power saver" so I have to suffer this terrible black? 8C

I have an ideas. If it can not be resolved, then at least you can make it less bad.
I have 3 ideas:
1) change the terrible black to another More beautiful color. I am sure that no one likes the black color.
2) instead of black color, set an Background image.
3)the fences folders will Disappear when you disable the desktop composition. But this idea is the worst

Hope you got one of my ideas.
I think the idea number 2 is the best.
You can make a picture that is a logo of fences.

I hope you received the one idea and you can do them.

You will need to ask Microsoft for that.

It is 'their' black, aka the non-paint result when DWM cannot display/function.  Think of it as the Blue in the BSOD when Windows fails to function...;)

I do not know who to talk to and I do not mean to do it..
Better you do it.

If not then it leads to idea 3.

Feel free to email support@stardock.com and the developer will be informed.

Having said that though . . he already knows.

And in case you are wondering, this happens when you use the full version, not just the free one.
