Getting crash everytime I try to setup new game options (when I hit next it freezes into crash)

I deleted the game out of my computer, then redownloaded & such (thinkin it might've been mods or cheats turned on at one point that caused this), only  it's still not allowing me to get past 'next'  ----- hoping for a known cure to an unknown problem (I was waiting for a fix to come eventually but the new map pack has me wanting to play NOW).  Any clues?

ok, apparently deleting the game doesn't delete the old factions and everything, once all E:FE stuff was deleted it works again
