unable to uninstall old windowfx version windows 8 64 - SOLVED !!

I tried to install the latest windowfx5.1 update but it says that a previous version has to be removed but then causes an error saying cannot locate windowfx5_setup.msi -

basically Microsoft have their own utility for removing all traces of old unwanted installation files - msicuu2.exe (might have to do a search for it online) - the utility is no longer supported by Microsoft but still works fine on windows 8 64

this also worked on an old version I had of tweak7 that I wanted to remove

Try using this: https://www.stardock.com/files/ODNT_zapper.exe if that does not do the trick or my advice is not on the up and up.
