You could set the account you do not want it to not show the button and use Windows 8 style menu as well as disabling the go to desktop feature.

All the settings like that are per user account.

End of willem83's quote

Yes that would stop Start8 from starting up in any account.

When it is running you can stop it via by running Start8 UNLOAD from the Start8 directory and that will stop it in the current session only.

We can see about adding a registry key to mean "do not load for this account" in future updates.

Hello,

Is there any new update for this subjet please ?

I work in a formation center, we have many computers with dual-boot win7 and win8.
People uses one or the other OS depending on what they have at home.
This solution is not satifying for us as we have to install software twice and also update them twice.
Then, I got the idea to use only Win8 with two sessions:
One session unchanged and one session with Start8 with all the Win8 new features disabled.
This way we could install and update the softwares only once.
Could you please add a feature in Start8 that ask on what session it has to be installed ?
With this we could purchase some licences.
Thank you very much.

The start8tweak exe included in the Start8 installation folder allows you to disable Start8 for an account.

Thank you for this information, it helps.

As we may have to install it on several computers, it would more convenient to have access to these settings during the installation.
