error 101 unable to locate key windowblinds files

unable to locate key windowblinds files

Dear Support,
 
Did clean install windows 7 x64 sp 1 enterprise
Used stardock central to install windowblinds and other apps
 
Disabled also my virus scanner, and runned it as administrator,
Can’t start windowblinds without error 101, after that its quits again.
Please help !
 
also my ticket is still FOY-422-87756 and no response from support at all after one week. !

Did you install WB's on something other than your OS drive/partition?  Did you move the skins folder from its default location in Public Documents? If either is true, WindowBlinds will not function correctly.

Is wbsrv.dll in your WindowBlinds directory?

Also is the path here correct?

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Stardock\ObjectDesktop\WindowBlinds\Path

my directory and regkey : C:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock\Object Desktop\WindowBlinds

en yes there is a wbsrv.dll

Hallo,

i have also the same problem with windowsblinds by using it on win 7 ultimate 64- bit and i also have not changed any directories and i tried it also on another 64 win 7 machine and there crashed the explorer by using the UIS2 skins.

 

Where is the problem?

i used windowsblinds also on a 32 bit machine /XP+win7 without any probs.

what is wrong ?

Open WindowBlinds Config. Click on About WindowBlinds. Copy and paste that info here. I am using it on Windows7/64 without issue. Are you using the trial, or paid version?

thanks 4 answer, but what do u want with this info? there is no mistake written and when i post here u can believe that i have a registered payed version... I used windowsblind enhanced on win xp pro and win 7 32- bit without any problems 4 a long time.

 

i am using a nvidia graphic 8800 Gts without nview

They are looking for the information to help you pc-freaky, if you do not provide it you probably will not get any help, as even Stardock support will need that information in order to help you.

No one thinks that you have a pirated version, pc-freaky. Posting your info here will help support see if there are any issues with the files associated with windowblinds (if all the files are there etc.)

Support may "need" it to be able to assist you.  Knowing the files contained therein, what version you have, whether it is a new install, if it worked before on this particular setup, etc. is something support will ask, as Lightstar pointed out. i have also tried it with the monitor drivers of acer and i uninstalled windowsblinds and reinstalled it about 10 times...iam getting tired :-)

I too am running Windows 7 64-bit, and our About Windowblinds information matches exactly pc-freaky.I am not having any problems at all though.

You will probably need to submit a ticket by email to support@stardock.com and wait for their answer on this one. Do not inquire about the ticket though until you hear back from someone as it will move your ticket to the bottom of the list.

but it would be nice to make the solution public. i am not the only user with the same prob and it would help other user to become satisfied. the programmer/developer of windowsblinds has spent a lot of energy in the activation procedure, but this  makes only sense, when FIRST the programm runs and not only the  activation. U don`t want to know how many times i installed it now without success. that was waste of time....

update 22.12.2012

 

not any response till today, iam angry about me, that i have renewed my WBBlinds for another new year.

My Ticket is without any answer from support.

Many other FREE Software is better developed and has better support.

Where is the problem?
