Pin items to start menu (start8)

I looked around and I didn't see anyone else post on this.

When I got to pin an item to the start menu (start8) it does not do anything. When I first installed it, it worked just fine, then a few restarts later and all the items disappeared.

 

Anyone else have this issue?

I have found the same thing.  When I unpin something and go out and in to the menu again, it is still pinned there.

Also, I uninstalled the MAPS app and start8 freaked out and would not display the menu.  I had to reboot.
