Gamespot has given Elemental: Fallen Enchantress a score of 7.5.

Fallen Enchantress nicely wipes lingering memories of its predecessor from your mind. This is a much better game, a fresher and much-improved take on the same concepts of forging a kingdom and fighting epic battles like a warrior mage without design problems and bugs weighing everything down. With that said, Fallen Enchantress isn't quite as accessible as it could be due to the initial learning curve and the dense nature of the fantasy world that you've been plopped into. That doesn't take much away from what the game does very well, though, so even with these minor flaws you still lose yourself in building a magical empire.

The Good

Compelling turn-based gameplay keeps you coming back for more
Great empire-building options provide long-term strategic depth and replayability
    Aggressive, challenging AI
Eerie, atmospheric music contributes to the fantasy flavor.

The Bad

    Extremely tough in the beginning
Not enough variety to the predictable tactical battles
    Dated battlefield and unit visuals.

Thanks crass_Monkey.

Interesting input on the negative points. I kind of agree the starting is a bit lack of and need to click next turn until things get fun

Dated visuals?

God I hate mainstream reviews.  The visual choice is deliberate, and quite beautiful.

Spot on.

They consider it being tough in the beginning, a negative?  In other words, "If this strategy game were casual, with no lore to study, no monsters out of the ordinary, no magical system, then it would be a positive, since you'd have nothing to learn."

Gamespot is brutal on all reviews ... even the "top" games like Halo barely make a 9.0.

Either these gamers have really bad days or they are upset that they have a website that barely ever works.
