Fences 2 crashing windows explorer

Windows explorer is constantly crashing since I installed the free version of fences. I am running Windows 7, 32 bit OS, The desktop also is certainly slower compared to pre-Fences and it freezes for some time with each crash. Very annoying and interrupting.

I just bought Fences 2.0 hoping to stop this problem. Unfortunately, Fences 2.0 is also causing the same problem, even more frequent than the free version.


I emailed Stardock support recently and haven't heard from them yet.

Any clue how to mend this issue?

Install the 2.01 update. It's available through sdc and the store.

I took the trouble of uninstalling the prior version and cleaning the registry, rebooting, and reinstalling, and rebooting.

I used CCleaner (free) to do this, and making a registry backup before each action.

 

I'm not saying this is necessary, but it gives me fewer problems in the long run.

I do have the last version 2.01 but crashes did not stop.

Make sure to look in your "spam/junk" email folder to see if the auto-reply has arrived... but don't answer it. Wait until you hear from an actual person or your request for help will be kicked to the end of the help queue.

Try what I did with CCleaner (it's freeware on the net) - that solved the problem for me.

Hello,

I have removed Fences 2 for a while because the problem with Windows Explorer had become unbearable - crashes had become so frequent.

I would be grateful if you could post some suggestions about this issue.

I have contacted support and I think they are doing something to solve this problem but it is quite slow.

Guys, i had the sam problem,

It came to my mind to delete network shortcuts on desktop from work that i had, and when i deleted them there where no more crashes.

I think that when Fences starts and sees the shortcus it tryes to connect to the network, and when it`s not available it freezes and crashes.

Hope i help someone.
