If you do not want hibernate shutdown you can disable this OS feature from the power control panel.  This is the new default OS shutdown system.

Fully accord. A while ago I found and added a right-click context desktop Power Menu that offers the option to Shut Down (hybrid) or Shut Down (full), without having to disable the Windows 8 Quick Start/Shutdown (hybrid) option in the Control Panel like I had to do in order to use the Start8 shutdown option in order to get  full shut down.
