Taskbar date not showing

I've been spending the last few days using Windows 8 and figuring out how I want to use it.  One think I like is having the date displayed below the time in the Taskbar.  I was able to get it to show by NOT selecting "Use small taskbar buttons" in the Taskbar Properties.  However, the date has once again disappeared, and I think it *might* be linked to when I installed Start8, could this be possible?

Is there any way to disable Start8 without uninstalling?

Thanks!

yes,

start8 unload

The date only shows up on multi line taskbars when the icons are in small mode.  This is normal for Windows.

I've been using Win7 for years with a single line taskbar, large icons, and it shows time and date.  Perhaps I did something years ago to get it there, I honestly don't remember.

Large icons mode will show the date, but you said you fixed it by not enabling small icons.  I.e. using large icons which implies you were using small icons.

Sweet, thanks that worked.

Still no date, though, so probably not a Start8 issue.
