A few Questions about FE

1. Is there a way to play this in a window?

2. I know that crystal is a resource but what is it actually used for if i develop it?

3. I have found a pasture with Horses how do I develop mounted troops do I put an Outpost next to it to put it within my borders then click it to build on it? or, do I just need to claim it and that is all? and they will show up as an option when i design new units?

4. Sometimes I will see a red Exclamation Point over something what does that mean?

1.  not sure.

2.  Crystal is used to make magical weapons, armor, and equipment for trained troops.

3. put an outpost next to it if it's too far from one of your cities.  once you have enough horses (you'll see a horse head with a number next to your gold and any metal or crystal you might have) you should unlock some default horse troops but you can also design your own troops and select horses as "equipment" in the design screen.

4. a red exclamation point means there is a resource within your zone of control (e.g. horses, crystal, creature lairs) that you can build something on to reap the benefits.  note that you might not yet have the technology to develop that resource just yet.  zoom it and it will tell you what technology you need to research.

--You get crystal allowing you to train troops with magical equipment... either weapons or accessories.

--You first need to claim the resource by putting it in your borders. You also need to research the tech mounted warfare. Then you must build a stable on the spot to produce horses for your troops. Getting mounted warfare is enough for your sovereign / champions to buy a horse(s) at your shop.

3. You can build a Stable on Wild Horses as soon as you bring them into your borders for +0.5 horses per season per stable.

While you can build up the horse resource number you are unable to use it until you have researched Mounted Warfare.  This allows you to add a horse to your trained units when you design them and to upgrade your stables to Ranches (+1 horse per season per ranch).

You can also make mounted troops with wild wargs if you don't have horses around. Same priciple, build the kennel on the wargs, research the right tech and design your units with wargs.
