My fail at a video tutorial attempt ...

That software combination didn't work, and I flubbed the narrative in a couple places.

I've found software that records video much better than the CamStudio I was using, but it still doesn't record game audio, unfortunately.  I am trying to record audio while I play as well for a bit more smoothness, but I am making a lot of errors which are frustrating, but I am hoping I can re-record audio over my flubs ... I guess its just going to take a lot of experience at making bad videos before I start making good ones, eh? heh.

I find it's really hard to record with free software..

Its a bit better with "Win Capture."  I am also trying to narrate as I go instead of trying to narrate afterwards

 

I tried using my speakers to get game audio into the recording, but I think I'll ditch the music, much as I love it, as there are too many distortions.  I think I'll let the sound effects permeate, though, as they help provide a sense of feedback from what's going on, on-screen, especially when I skip or end turns.

this isn't free but bandicam is really good, it's better than fraps IMO
