Fences 2 bug - skinned scroll bars don't fade

I'm having an issue with the current release of Fences (paid version) when skinned scroll-bars are enabled. Once a scroll-bar has been activated (by scrolling in a fence) and the desktop icons are hidden with the Quick-hide feature (either timed or manually induced), it will not fade out with the rest of the fence. Bringing the fences back and hiding them again does not correct this, and while the bar does not appear on top of other windows, when other windows are closed the bar is still there.

Once the issue has occurred, the bar will remain on the desktop until the mouse cursor touches it, at which point it will immediately disappear out of view like a bubble being popped. Any window can be in focus at that time - as long as the scroll-bar is visible on screen it can be cleared. Of note, unskinned scroll-bars fade as expected.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 Professional on a Core2 Quad with an ATI HD4870. I was running older video drivers (11.11) so I upgraded them to the current 12.6 release with no change. I have not installed any version of Fences before this installation. Reproducibility of this bug is 100%.

Here's what it looks like:

I have the same issue on Visa 64. I'm not sure what skinned means, but my installation is a clean upgrade from Fences1. Currently, I have no scroll bars and am trying to get them back.

Turns out my scroll bars were skinned. I deselected "skinned" and now all is as expected. Thus I do have the same issue you have. BTW I have a self installed ATI HD5700 that I don't intend to mess with anymore.

Try MasterCard instead of Visa! :)
(Sorry, could not resist. :))
Original poster - that is a very old card you have there. Maybe time to upgrade?

EDIT: 2nd poster, where do you set that skinned scrollbars setting? Is it in the AMD/ATI Catalyst video driver settings?
