WB 7.4 problem, have to reapply skin most of the time

I have window 7 64 bit, this is really pissing me off so if anyone can help me it would be appreciated, everytime i restart my laptop the skin doesnt fully apply to my system. For instance, the skin taskbar is black but everytime i restart its gray looking like windows 98 taskbar so all i have to do is reapply skin and its very annoying. Anybody?

you probably have some technical term for this, but I'm not that technical :)

Waybackmachine: remember when one of the WB versions loaded really slow and when that was corrected, occasionally, WB would not repaint all of the windows elements and a redraw, repaint, reapply is necessary. happens to me about 33% of the time but when I'm building a blind I "apply changes" a lot.

this has been mentioned on many occasions.

I noticed it too and for some time now I thought there was a problem with WB. Even get a message saying that there's a problem and how to correct it. Trouble is it takes me to some website I never heard of to download the newest version of Windowblinds which I already have. Go figure.

@OP (can't seem to get a quote at the moment) "For instance, the skin taskbar is black but everytime i restart its gray looking like windows 98 taskbar so all i have to do is reapply skin" Do you have the transparency adjusted from within WBConfig? If so, set it back to "Reset All" and see if that has anything to do with it.

To be honest, I haven't seen that since around WB 6.1-6.3. Vista 32 and 64 bit would do that, or need a second apply to get transparency working. I don't recall ever seeing it on Win7 or even on my XP rig, but that machine isn't used much.

just a thought. When a skin is completed, if there is an abundance of leftover unused images in the blind file, this could be a bit confusing to wb during loading?I am guilty of leaving xtras in my files, and have had these issues with loading periodically. :banhammer:

under the "tools" tab, click on the "clean skin". this will remove all the unwanted files into another file folder that can be deleted and will not become part of the finalized WBA package.

when I mouseover IE, in the taskbar, instead of page veiws, i just get text box, on occasion. Not just one skin either, so just reapply.  No biggie!

Happens to me all the time Wiz, upon booting up in Windows 7 64-bit I have to reapply the WB to get transparency working. People keep saying it's a DWM issue, but I don't think so.  I am using the latest WB7:

Your computer has a Windows Experience Index base score of 5.9
Your Windows Graphics Experience score is 7.5

WindowBlinds version : WindowBlinds 7.42 (325 - Windows 7 Edition) - 64 bit OS

WindowBlinds is installed correctly on this PC
WindowBlinds appears to be activated on this PC
(Dell 2408WFP(Digital)) 1 is attached to NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250

Wblind.dll         2012/07/13 13:23:20
Wblind64.dll         2012/07/13 13:24:18
Wbsrv.dll         2011/09/26 15:10:56
SevenConfig.exe         2012/07/09 17:44:31
Wbload.exe         2010/10/20 16:08:35
Wbhelp.dll         2011/10/04 10:01:37
Tray.dll              2009/10/23 20:12:19
Wbload.dll              2010/06/07 15:59:25
Screen.exe         2010/06/07 15:59:43

Also, a lot of times when working in SKS I will get certain elements, like the taskbar, or part of the start panel, etc. that do not apply correctly and I have to reload the WB, sometimes 2-3 times, to fix it.
