NO change of view in normal fences?

In the folder portals you can select "view" and then "list" or "details" or whatever.

In the "normal" fences you can not, it's always the "middlesized symbols", no option to change that viewoption... just the opacity.

Is there a reason for that?

Fences are for desktop icons, not textual links, but folder portals in the Fences proggy are desktop representations of standard folders ergo they will have other options for representation...;)

fences are for "desktop icons"... okay. but still these icons just are "file types" of all kinds (music, pictures, shortcuts, ... ) to be precise.

what is shown in the fences is a file represented by an icon. so when i open a normal windows folder and browse to the desktop i can change the view to "list" or "details".

that should definitely be possible in fences too (like it is in the windows explorer and the portals).

if possible (and i don't see a reason why not) please add this feature.

okay, i did a little workaround:

i put all the desktop fences to the 2nd desktop page (so they are hidden while i am on the 1st/main desktop)

then i made a portal to the desktop folder and put it on the main desktop.

now i can view my desktop content in a "list" view.

only letdown is that i don't have a seperated, autosorted list (by filetypes), like one can have with the fences,

it's just one huge list - but still better than all the huge icons like in the fences :)

2nd desktop page isn't a standard of windows i think. Which program do you use for this?

Can you make some screen shots of your workaround?

Nice work-around.

Pages are a new function of Fences.

yeah, like Zubaz said, that's a new function of fences, you can slide through different desktop-pages like on a smartphone.

here are the screenshots of the result of my workaround:

standard fences which i put on the 2nd page:

main desktop page, with the same files as above, just as a portal set to list view:
