New game needs you!

Hello all!

My name is Anti A. Danilevski and I'm making video games. Glad to meet you all!

We're making a - 3D space adventure, quest and ARPG, in hard sci-fi genre, with real-time combat and click-n-go controls. It's a mix of the spirits of such games as Star Control, Elite, and Space Rangers; this is simple gameplay comparable to Dark Orbit, with excellent, up-to-date three-dimensional graphics somehow comparable to Eve Online.

When I'm saying 'good graphics', I actually means this

The action of the game takes place in a universe resembling our real world as much as possible: stars are located just where they actually are. We had to spend several months developing actual astronomical data and building a universe based on them. After playing it, you will know once and for all where the sun is located in our corner of the universe, which stars are closest to us, what their spectral classes are, planets... and much more.

Here how our starmap looks like:

Beside that, we have a deep scenario and world design (it's almost USP nowadays). We built our scenario based on current research. It's somewhat a prediction of the possible future - we are developing an educative game.

And there is a screenshot from the game:

Why I'm here, just registered and already posting this? There are two reasons:

- First, I'm gathering feedback and opinions. This really helps me to make a better game and realize if something is wrong. Thanks to some people I've already made few corrections. I've just joined, but that doesn't mean I'll throw my post and disappear.

- Second, we are now on Kickstarter, and this is where I need your backing, if you want to play a game like this.

I'm not going to give you any links because I, myself, hate spam. Besides, I and have a really bad experience with it - at the beginning I was naive enough to create big beautiful threads with many pictures and videos, information... good read, quick bans.

So, I ask permission to share link to our campaign.

If not allowed, well - we can simply discuss our game and development!

Best wishes,

- Anti

FYI, dark grey text on a slightly darker grey background is hard for me to read. :(

Haha, I didn't even realise there were any text there at all.

After Legends of Peragus, good luck getting people willing to pay up front with just screenshots.

We have video too.

What happened with Legends? Gone?

ADD: We have way more content than many other projects on Kickstarter. And even more than some of million-gathering games there. Don't think it's the problem at all.

Heads up, Stardock are usually fine with people posting about games here. But if you plan on replying to what people are posting, you'll turn it into a Q&A and they have not allowed those in the past because it's basically advertising on their forums.

Not going to turn forum into Q&A, no way.

But to some questions like this I must reply, though. I'll be happy to add a video here as soon as (and if) it will be allowed!

Thanks for support, btw. I hope there won't be a brawl here ;)

AntidAnilevski ....send a PM [Personal Message] to Kryo [find his name on the gaming forums...click on it and there are options in the drop-down] requesting what is and/or is not allowed on Stardock's forums re third-party game discussion/promotion.

Kryo is the go-to guy [Admin] within the Gaming Forums and will be able to advise you...;)

Third-party game discussion is fine, if it comes about naturally (existing users posting things of interest). Joining and immediately posting solicitations is generally frowned upon, however (as you've seen from experience elsewhere, apparently); we're not an advertising platform.

Since you've at least not provided any links, I'll let it slide for a little bit... If anyone is interested enough, they'll need to find it on their own. Any additional threads on the subject (already saw one) will be removed.

Alright, thanks Kryo.

If people will want to find it our - feel free to PM me for the game name/link!

And if you have questions about the game itself, feel free to ask. Feedback helps a lot.

About Legends: unfortunately, gamedev is a difficult business. Some will fail, some will win, most will release games that is nobody want to play and slowly disappear. Sad to see that players lost their game and hopes, but believe me - developers felt WAY worse. They lost 2 years of their lives, lost hopes to develop their company, lost hopes to release new versions and updates.

I don't think it's right to blame them. They tried to make a game for you and they failed, but for attempt - they have my respect and moral support.

Good sentiment.  As a coding hobbyist, I understand some of the effort that goes into making anything on the PC.  Hopefully the skills they developed for LoP will be used on future projects.  Even the failures teach us stuff!

Still got the great dark grey-on-black goth look up top.

I'm not sure that qualifies as goth ... generally when someone is described as 'goth,' they have pale skin in sharp contrast with deeply blackened hair and/or clothing.  Almost-black on darker-black is just plain unreadable to me, heh.
