Subscription Price?

It looks like my subscription needs to be renewed.  It says the new renewal price is $49.95.  Is this correct???  One year ago I only paid $24.95, I can't believe it's doubled in one year...

Even without the special offer it should have been $34.95 unless your sub expired a long time ago.

I don't understand why this product is a subscription....would buy it if it was a one time price, but every year? Does not seem worth 50$.

Guess I will wait for a X-mas sale or something.

It is not $50 for a renewal, The price for a renewal is normally $34.95 but is on sale at this time for $24.95.

Check it out here. - https://www.stardock.com/products/odnt/purchase.asp

It's really a hybrid:  A 'subscription' which gives you access to all application updates, beta & release, as well as new versions & app additions during course of the subscription year, and a 'purchase' of the applications which remain fully functional after the subscription expires.  The individual apps can also be downloaded & archived, making them re-installable later if ever needed, say on a new computer or HD, provided the OS still supports them.  What that's 'worth' is an individual value judgement.

So I can buy it, and just choose not to have any more updates etc after the 1 year. Yet still have it available to download and install at any time?

I don't see that happening, since they usually keep the download up to date. Say I format my PC, my 1 year sub is over, and I want to install the product...what then?

If you download & archive the applications and save the archives to a backup drive, then you have 'em to reinstall after that reformat.  They are yours as long as you preserve them, though once the subscription expires you no longer have access to app updates.
