Request: Automatic updates (or at least no more forced updates)

Hi folks-

I love Start8, and it's a staple on my Windows 8 machine.  Thanks for building a great product.  Start8 works perfectly for me - I'm happy with it and don't have any issues I need resolved!  Except...

I appreciate that you're continuing to improve the app, but the constant updates are getting a little frustrating...  I start my machine intending to do work, but before I can get started I have to tend to Start8's update-du-jour.  It's getting worse than Flash Player at this point. 

This behavior made sense back when Start8 was a free beta - when you wanted to limit the time the app would work until you switched to a paid model.  But now that the app is for sale - and I've happily paid my $5 - can you please make updates optional for paid users?

Ideally, I'd like Start8 to auto-update so I never have to think about it (with a setting to disable auto updates).  But I'd be satisfied with just disabling the update check and manually updating on my own schedule.
