Question: how do you put in custom made maps on rebellion / Steam?

So it has been awhile but I just recently purchased rebellion and am having a grand ol time playing it!,  I got it through steam and it is not detecting any of my previously saved maps in the C:\Users\<redacted>\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\ GalaxyForge folder  so my question is what is the process of putting new custom made maps in so I can play them in game?

also is the same process all that is needed to get a friend the map so that we can play multiplayer on that custom made map?

thanks!

Where did you get these maps? Did you make them yourself or download them. If the latter, you used the GalaxyForge in Rebellion's install directory, not downloaded from this website, right?

All of the ones I made myself.  I did not know that it made a difference though

Yes, the one on this website is for Trinity and older version of Sins. Rebellion has its own Galaxy Forge, you must now use that. Any maps made with the old one will not work. I haven't tried it but there is a map converter tool made by Harpo that may work.

Send the .galaxy file to him in an email or whatever and have him place it in his GalaxyForge folder.

for map designer maps the game can transfer them, BUT for galaxyforge maps you NEED to copy the maps to your friend's computer.
