help with a purchased theme

abracadabra theme

Hope someone can help me.  I purchased the Abracadabra theme awhile ago and according to site it is updated to work on win7 but no matter what I do it won't install. I know it's an old theme but one I happen to like so I made sure to check the stardock store to see if it said it supported win7 and it does.   Tried many times with theme manager and even windowblinds and it just won't work.  I've gone and redownloaded it to make sure it was what i hope is the current version but still no luck.  Can anyone tell me if there is a newer link for it that supports win7, maybe i'm just not downloading it from the right place.  Any help is much appreciated.  Thanks

Got a link?

Sounds a tad 'odd', but would be awesome news.

This link does say it supports Win7. https://www.stardock.com/products/themes/suites/inspired/abracadabra

This one does not. https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/premium_themes/5/

How are you installing it?  Have you tried using  Add New Theme/Install from Disk from within the Theme Manager UI?

That first link you listed was where i saw it said win 7 but just can't figure out what the deal is in it not working.  Yes tried the add new theme/install from disc in both theme manager and windowblinds doesn't install in either.  What's even more screwed up is after I tried to install it, wba goes nuts, had to remove it and reinstall to get my other skins to work.  I have not had this trouble before, even xp themes will install in windowblinds even if your using win7, just can't use them.  I'm at a bit of a loss on this and I know there's got to be a way to use it if stardock is saying it works in windows 7.

Could be that it's not agreeing with theme manager.

If you want, you should be able to copy the .theme file over, rename the copy to .zip, open it up with WinZip or whatever, pull the pieces out and extract them to the appropriate places or install them (e.g. a .wba file) individually.  After that you should be able to load the pieces individually with the appropriate programs (icon packager, windowblinds, etc).

I'm not sure what to think about the wb piece hosing up windowblinds though unless it's not getting extracted right by theme manager.

what dave said but plainer. Unzip into

[documents , all users, stardock, windowblinds,] into a folder with [skin name.] Open stardock windowblinds and rebuild the list, might get it done.

MAKE SURE YOU DELETE ANY EXISTING FOLDERS WITH THAT NAME FIRST FROM THAT LOCATION OR WINDOWBLINDS MAY NOT COMPLETELY OVERWRITE THE FILE. LUCK!

The delete part is crucial! Especially because you have multiple files you downloaded that may not be getting overwritten properly. Delete first, re download if you have to ,the Seven version, and try the procedure described above..Hope you get it installed.
