what is happening here?

ok, yesterday there were a bunch of scenery wallpapers called "foto*" (actually one is listed in the top ten). so, i didn't get them yesterday because i'm on a dial up. but i went to get them today, and they arent there. where did they go? one is still listed in that top ten thingy up there, but teh link goes nowhere. why was it removed? i understand the moderation thingy (since i have attempted to make some logons) but i thought that happened before they got put on here. then i thought, if they were moderated, how could they be rejected if one was on the top ten, but there is still some wallpapers like "Shine on" (no offense to the guy who made it) that has only gotten like 3 downloads today. whats going on? will this happen to me? am i safe because i don't use bryce? im kinda scared to spend time on something that could be pulled off like that.

I'm not sure in this instance but yes, we do occasioanlly go through and clean up the wallpaper section. This site isn't meant to be a wallpaper site. So the wallpapers we do have we want to be the best of the best.

No...I haven't taken a recent trip through the walls...if those ones went walkies I'd say it was just a gremlin.....I can see them over there to the right....

When I do frolic through the walls it will be to check that nothing remains there that is 'inappropriate' that is, pertaining to issues of copyright.
Anything that is currently 'up' would NOT be removed without very good reason, and certainly not without the general concensus of the other Admins.
Since my last check of the database, there are now 1000+ more walls posted here.
What surprises me is that there are people who claim there is no variety....surely in 1640 walls there is at least a 'little' variety....OK, if each and every wall submitted was accepted then there'd be probably more like 5000 walls, but 3000 of those would be Britney Spears.....[hardly 'variety']...

I'm offended when someone says there is no variety in our wallpaper section. To say that they are "samey" is a gross injustice. There are many wonderful artists who post their work here, and I am often astounded at the level of technical ability and artistic prowess that they display.

I am a wallpaper artist, https://www.wincustomize.com/myskins.asp?AuthorID=194 and whether you like my work or not, you can't accuse it of being "unvaried". I am sure many other artists would feel the same way.

I think her question was more of "why was it there, then it was gone." I, too, had clicked on the "Foto 6" in the top 10, and the link was dead. After looking at all the wallpapers (now that they are back), they all appear to be landscapes, so I was wondering if they got removed because of redundency and they all got removed by mistake? This wallpaper library is out of hand! How many megs is that library, anyway?

If I see anymore Bryce crap or organic swirls my head will explode. Define 'samey'...

Some walls are genuinely well made and original. Most are just toilet paper.

A quick look at the number of downloads will tell you which ones need to be removed .

Java - (and groovin) it was a confusion that those pieces were up, then down, up, down, then finally up again. (it's confusing just trying to write that )

We were testing the confusion script and found that it worked perfectly... no more confusion tests are planned for a while...

Ahhh! The Confusion script! Now, that makes sense! I use that one in tech support a lot, it seems to work nicely
