Question about GUIC 2012

I would like to know what the criteria upon which the Windowblinds for the GUIC will be judged.  This is my first year entering.  I have 2 WBs I've created that I'm very proud of.  I can't decide which one to enter.  One is much more "me" -- original, different, out-of-the-ordinary, interesting, still very useable, but definitely not vanilla.  The other one is extremely clean, dark and blue--I had more of a skinning-for-the-masses in mind when I created that one.

I guess the bottom line question I have is which is going to count more -- originality or downloads/popularity?

Hmmm Karen, I think you´re allowed to enter with more than only one Blind. :\

:S   Andy, that might be true, but part of me feels like that's sort of gaming the system.  At this stage of my skinning journey, I don't feel like I need to go for quantity.  I will probably start on new skin in a few weeks anyway, (I'm thinking it's time to start getting ready for Halloween), and what if THAT one is just oh-so-awesome, too.  In the meantime, people who come here for fresh WB are kind of waiting around for new stuff, because everyone is getting their submissions for GUIC and holding out on them for the contest.  I remember being one of those people -- the kind who didn't know how to create skins, but wanted fresh skins, and then there was this lull in submissions because of the contest.  I think that's sort of a shame -- like television during the summer months--all reruns :pout:

I just kind of wanted a heads up on what the criteria will be for judging.

I was told 2 days ago when I asked from a SD person that all the details would be available this coming week.

I remember Brad's criteria were 'originality', 'usability' and 'overall' each on a scale of 1-10 and penalty points for stuff (don't remember with respect to wb's).

I also remember that there were 3 judges and each judge had his/her own criteria....

OK..thanks everybody for taking the time to respond.  I guess I'll just sit tight for a few days, wait for the info to come out and for the time being, I think I'm leaning with the more original one.
