Cannot update the beta

I did not install all the updates on my computer (which might be the reason of the bug below). So when I tried to install update 0.9.5, I get an error message (don't remember the exact sentence) that say that it cannot find elemental and that according to the resistry, is should be in the following path. But the game seems to be installed in that path.

So I was wondering if I had to install all the patch between my version and 0.9.5. The problem is that the previous patches are not available for download anymore.

So I guess I'll have to wait for the final release.

Or you could uninstall the game, reboot, and reinstall using the latest full game.

Hello all, I have a similar problem. The updater, Visual Patch, if i´m not mistaken looks for the game in the wrong place. Can I direct it to the correct folder somehow? I would rename the folder but I can´t see what I think is the correct link´s supposed name on the patcher. I´m attempting to update from a .912 game download to the .950 patch. Unfortunately my crappy connection makes patching significantly better for me.

Thank you

Having the same issue.  I have uninstalled FE, reinstalled the previous version and no good.  Goes to a pop screen that:

says

Elemental Fallen Enchantress could not be located on your system.  Re-install Elemental Fallen Enchantress and then run this patch again.

Registry (Path=value)

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.ent\Element(cuts off here...not sure if there is more)

Result (this is the installed location for FE per the

registry):

c:\Program Files (x86)\Stardock

Games\FallenEnchantress

Also has a green bit on the left and in the green says Visual Patch

Ive tried DL'ing the full game and have issues with that working as well.  Im not in a good spot and DL fo rme takes almost 6 hours

for the game.  The beta upgrade, is a bit better, but cant get that to work either.  The only time I got FE to work(new version) was when i right clicked on it

and selected Troubleshoot compatability.  A screen came up saying it should run in XP mode(wiith Windows pack 2).  This then got me to hear the music of FE and came to the main screen, but the only thing you could see was no script for everything.  Did manage to ctrl tab and talk to Kryo who said it may be a bad DL...so I dl'd it again and nada.  Any ideas anyone or am I just SOL for this patch.  First time I havnt been able to play a beta of FE or even for WoM, so im stumped.

If you're having installer issues even with a clean install, please contact support@stardock.com. If getting into the game but having issues after that point, please post your debug.err file.

I did not download the whole game because I have limited bandwidth per month. But I did not expect other people to have this issue and I did not expect the whole install to fail too. If anybody finds the solution, still post it in this thread so that the others can see.

Same issue here.  Trying to run the new beta on a new PC.  Installed the .75 full beta & registered ok.  Seems to run ok (but haven't tried to get past the main menu because I'm not interested in playing .75).

Then got the "software not found" error trying to install the .95 upgrade.  Windows update (to get a c++ patch) did not help.

The registry entry it points to looks ok to me.  I did install to a non-default location "C:\Games\Stardock\FallenEnchantress" but that is what I see in the registry.  The same location worked on the old PC for FE beta thru .915.

Same .95 download works on my old PC.

New (bad) Win-7 64-bit; old (good) XP.  Looks like I get to play on the slow box for a while while I wait for a fix.

Id still love to know what everyone else did to update via the upgrade beta and not the full version.  Why do theirs work and we get this strange error because its looking for another place.  Funny thing is though, is that path does look familiar but im not sure why.  Ive checked my entire C: drive and its not there, but I seems very familiar to me.  Does anyone know the full path of it?  Should I try and make it up and see what happens?  I can play the previous FE beta and upgraded it the same way, but cant this one.  I also cant DL the full install due to my speed out here.  Takes almost 3 hours just for the upgrade...longer for the entire.  If anyone hears anything please remember to post in here!!

End of Malleus_magician's quote

If no good tips show up here, I'll try that later, after the next version comes out.  But I hope the next version will have a fix.

With my internet connection, they could almost write new versions faster than I could download the full files anyway   :)

Ive DL'd the full version too, but it doesnt run. I think since my connection is so spotty, that I get file corruption.  Ive used Flashget too, and it doesnt seem to help much, though at least I dont lose the process with 1.5minutes to go...let me tell ya...that pissed me off haha.  Ill try again and Im glad you are getting to try it out.  At the worst, Ill be able to DL this when I get home in a few days.  Strange thing is, my Civ 5 Gods and Kings also doesnt work atm.  Strange how both these games just wont work for me.  OH well.

Having the same issue,

probably due to Windows 7 x64 registry configuration for 32bit applications;

the installer looks in the "x64 application path":

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Stardock\Drengin.ent\Element...

it's missing the 64-32 registry intermediate path part "Wow6432Node", so that it should be

HKLM\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Stardock\Drengin.ent\Element...

So is there anyway to fix that then or is that up to Devs?
