I know Alex Jones is out there a bit, but these purchases of millions of rounds of HP ammo by DHS (and by the Weather Service??? FCO) are disturbing, to say the least.

And now the Social Security Administration needs 174,000 hollow point rounds?  What the hell is going on here?

Yeah, I don't like this.

I'm reminded that the Department of Education has its own armed division.  I'm in favor of gun control in only one sector - the Federal sector.

The agencies are all coming out and saying this is all normal, just resupplying for training and readiness.

Which suggests there's a shitload of training going on, and that those targets are really tough to take down.  Is it really necessary to 'train' with HP rounds, that no other ammo would suffice?  I know nothing of serious weapons training, so if any of you do, please enlighten me.

With this kind of 'readiness' we'll look like Mexico in no time flat.

Seriously, have we reached the point that the security guard at the SSA office requires hollow point rounds?

And who do they intend to shoot with 1.5 billion rounds of HP bullets?  You read that right - billion.  And it's actually a bit more than that, enough to put 5 HP's into each and every US citizen.

Point taken.  But they still have a few rounds unexpended.

There's an apparently insatiable appetite for ammo at DHS.  Not just any ammo, but more HP's.

This is insane.  The government of the people is preparing for war against itself.

You scared me.  DHS still stands for Department of Human Services to me. :P

Until 1994 the Social Security Administration was part of the Department of Health & Human Services.  Since then they've been an independent agency of the executive branch.  They already have their ammo.  That's right - the SSA needs hollow points.

It just keeps getting better and better.  I don't believe it is paranoid to fear for the future of this country.
