Theme Manager Status
Have a short and simple question for the Stardock folks.
I was wondering if there was any information available pretaining to an update for/to Theme Manager or if it will be moving into the nonsupported category?

Hmmm, maybe the question wasn't as simple as I thought it was.
It's on my todo list to look at some fixes for it after I get a copy of the Windows 8 RTM code and can better evaluate what needs changing there as well.
Kris
Thank you for the reply Nakor. If I can help in any way let me know, more than willing.
Good news.
Thanks, Kris.
Bump for an update.
Oh pooo, what was I thinking bumping this on a Sunday. Duhhhhh
This am Monday. You can bump it today. See...
BUMP!
BUMP!
BUMP!
Easy.
I wonder how things are going with this?
Has anyone tried any of the other theme mgr programs out there? Do any of them support any of the stardock programs? I've seen a patch floating around for Windows 7 theme mgr to support 3rd party themes, but I don't think that would do much for us. Winstep I think has something on their site for their products. I wonder if they have the same problems with it. I miss the hell out of using this one. You almost don't even want to change your theme now when you think of having to do it all manually.
I suspect that Stardock is going to move Theme Manager to unsupported status, mind you that is just my opinion.
Granted that Theme Manager, when first conceived, was meant to allow you to apply a full desktop look with minimal keystrokes but it isn't that difficult to apply themes to the desktop. Most folks don't change themes on a daily basis.
I have been making Theme Manager Suites for awhile now and will definitely miss this program.
No.
Do you need the uxtheme multipatcher for windows 7 (64bit) for the Stardock Theme Manager to work?
Cuz it takes longer than a day to change one. I mean that as a joke, but seriously, if they were easier and faster to change, more peps would be changing them more often. In turn that would mean more downloads, more interest, etc. etc. There's something else I want to say. I've typed, deleted, typed, deleted about four times now. I'm going to be nice, but it's like the big pink elephant theme in the room. Not referring to anyone here, just about the program. Well, more like marketing. OH GOD, MAKE ME SHUT UP AND HIT THE ENTER KEY!!!
I have no idea what uxtheme multipatcher is and I'm not sure I want to.
If Theme Manager was fixed and working properly it would not need any other program for it to work.
Theme Manager has been broken for a while now so I suspect that it has no real effect on folks downloading themed skins and applying them to their desktop. Changing skins for things like WB, OD, CFX or Tiles is usually two clicks, not that hard at all. Granted you do have to download them and depending on the skin extract them but again not all that hard.
Hell no!! That thing will cause all kinds of problems.
WindowBlinds skins your GUI without hacking any system files.
The uxtheme patcher is a hack. User beware.
I will ask around the office for status.
I do believe that I all ready know the answer Zubaz, it will be the same you get for DX.
Now that being said it would be nice to hear that they were being replaced with new programs providing similiar functions.
Heck, I just feel pissed off that I can't use Premium themes (16) or MyColor themes (11) after forking out my hard-earned for them.
What is not working?
Zu, I can't speak for beachbummer, but my answer to your question is everything.
More specifically, TM only loads a wallpaper and the windowblind, most times.
MyColors totally hosed my system, had to remove it. It does not play well with the current version of windowblinds, for starters. Had to reinstall that too.
Just trying to help....
I have quite a few paid MC themes I'd love to use, if only the windowblind part.
Yes, whatever happened to providing them as unencrypted?
MyColors was designed to run without any other Stardock products. And as it gets older (without updates) incompatibilities will only increase.
Hopefully will have some word on Wednesday.
