Question about comatibility

I got windows Xp sp 3, Intel core Duo E 4600, GeForce GTX 560ti...

I got problem with basic elemental magic, once i installed it on my computer it freezes at the main loading screeen. I tried many versions, problem was the same. I wanna preorder Fallen Enchantrees, but i dont wanna to spend 40 $ on smthing that may not work.

Is there any one day trial to check is it working on my pc, or is there any coincidence with with troubleshooting with basic version of elemental.

If u need any more specifications bout my computer to answer name it ...

If you "freeze" at the loading screen, I suggest you wait several minutes - could be up to 10 minutes. At the start of elemental the game runs a sort of process where it collects all the data about the game (which is stored in xml in your install folder) and combines it into a zip file the game can use. Essentially it puts all the contents of the game into a packed archive. This can take several minutes but you only have to do it once.

 

Another solution is to go to your installation folder of Elemental:war of magic and run the DataZip.exe. This is the process that combines data. Run that, it closes itself when finished. Then try starting the game. It should take much less time then.

 

Note that this might not actually be the issue you are having. But I think it is.

 

 

If you decide to purchase fallen enchantress after release and it does not function, you are entitled to a complete refund. Stardock will attempt to fix the problem first though. Since it is still in beta, you may not get a refund if you buy it now and it doesn't work, and you may not get the same level of support now that you will after it is released.
