Objectbar

What ever happened?

I'm curious what ever happened to Objectbar. Objectbar was really the only program that ever drew me to Stardock because you could do so much with it. It was also the only program in existence that could replicate the Mac's finder bar almost perfectly, and even the double menu+taskbar look of Ubuntu.

I've been gone from home for some time, but I'm about to return and have a new computer. I'd love to redo the customizations that I had which helped my work so much. For me, Objectbar was paramount. Nothing in all the internet could stack up against it. So I'm curious why Stardock has lost interest in developing or even supporting it now. I'm also hearing it doesn't work well with Windows 7. This is a huge disappointment.

ObjectBar is still around. It's legacy software no longer supported.

Jeff moved on.  Check out his Bins - nifty.  And he developed Fences.  ObjectBar just wasn't doin' it for him anymore, I reckon.

I was a die-hard ObjectBar user.  I think it's a great app.  But there were not many people like us.  And the code was getting harder and harder to keep current with operating systems and there was only so much time that could be split between projects. :(

Does anyone have a download link for it? I wouldn't mind finding a link to download the last version of RightClick, too!

Thanks for the quick response!!

I guess it only shows up there if you purchased it in the past... I don't see it. I've looked all over the Stardock site, including a few links to purchase it, that 404.

I tried a DL from I think download.cnet.com, but it crashes when I try to change the theme. (And, it's the public version, so I can only use the supplied Mac and Vista themes..)

By the way, I bought Bins a while ago (few months) and really like it. I didn't realize it was by one of the guys from Stardock. It's very useful! :-)

Jeff Bargmann was the developer of ObjectBar for Stardock if I'm not mistaken but I believe he's out on his own now with 1up and Bins.

You might email sales@stardock.com.  They are off on holiday just now but they might be able to help you.
