Double Capitalship Opening

is it still possible, in some way?

I was traumatized when I tryed to open with a double capitalship and saw, after i got the fleet upgrade, that I can't no longer start with 2 cap ships. I think it's intentional. ( initial fleet logistics is 99 now ).

Why was this change made? Was it that OP for an opener?

I rewrite the question: "is it still possible to pull it out somehow?"

Your Flagship counts as 1 fleet supply. Remove "flagship victory," and you'll have your full fleet supply back.

This just raises further questions:

1. Why are you not using "Quick Start?"

2. Why are you trying to rush 2 cap ships if you already have a flagship? 3v2 seems less effective than 2v1 (big ships).

To answer some questions:

1) I use quickstart, just Shift+S on scouts and you get 100 supply( not effective, some may say, but I don't think so)

2) Dindn't realise that the capital ship condition means 1 extra supply of units.

3) Give me one good reason to spam corvetes, and please convince me. I like to open with the Kortul Devastator + colony ship.

I had in mind a double  Kortul Devastator opening, but now I realise it's usless unless you are going 1v1 hard on someone which is not vassari or is Vassari and it's not building Kortul Devastator. They a bit OP in the beging ( virtualy infinite shields ), at least vs the patrols near uncolonised planets.

PS: if you have some good openers i'm all ears.

Carriers were and perhaps still are the prefered opening rush cap. The Sova especially is still incredibly dangerous due to Embargo if you're close. The Skinatra and Halcyon on the other hand have potent fleet support that makes them useful throughout the game. Back in Diplomacy a couple guys actually rushed a pair of Vulkoras Desolators, as their high planet damage could easily take out a homeworld before most nonexperienced players could react if they didn't see it coming.

Corvettes are actually quite good at dealing with capitalships in the current build. They use the same damage type as heavy cruisers, and their speed allows them to chase down capitalships with ease. If an enemy cap escapes with only a little health left, send 10 corvettes after it and they will probably finish the job before any defenses can kill them. That's why you'll probably see fewer blind double cap openers.
