Soooo...How? I've looked and looked. IS the ability called scuttle, i've been hearing that a bit across here. How how how! I've looked at all options on my planets. My ships can't blow it up. What I do!!! I have all the fleet upgrades that allow me to not need planets, and I have the one that allows me to destroy the planet.
You can scuttle anything with Ctrl + s, or with the very small yellow scuttle bar at the bottom of the hud, including planets. After you get the Striped to the Core research, when you scuttle a planet, instead of abandoning it like normal, it gets turned into either a dead asteroid (large planet) or asteroid field (asteroids and dwarf planets).
Click on the planet you want to blow up, and then click the thin little orange and black striped bar and the bottom middle of the HUD. It will say either "Scuttle" or "Strip Planet" when you hover over it.
