Balance Issue between Vasari Rebels and Advent Loayists (Single Player)

I'll get right down to business. I am no pro player of Sins. I have played it happily since the original though. I only ever play single player (got stood on too many times online).

Since the Vasary Beta I have played now 3 or 4 games always against the Advent Loyalist. I was Vasary rebel. Every time I get into a battle my forces just melt away, and I mean fast!. I know a lot of you would just consider this a noob insight but I don't think this is the case.

In every instance both my fleet and the advent's where of similar size and composition. Like so many game in my time. The sort of situation where you can expect the outcome. But to my surprise my forces always get annihilated.

Something has to be done. In its present state the game is broken. I wonder why the game was even release if such imbalances are still present after the BETA?

Why are you building fleets as VR instead of SBs?

There are other factors that come into play, like has the AI researched more shield/hull upgrades, are you fighting in their culture, or is their titan higher level than yours?

Keep in mind that Advent fleets have great synergy between the different units and they now have anti-phase missile blocking tech now...

If you are willing, post a replay...

You may risk humiliating yourself, but you might also learn something...more importantly, if there really is a serious issue, having a replay will give you more credibility and bring the proper attention to the issue...

exactly I agree completely, what it sounds like without seeing of course is you were fighting in their culture and as stated they have great synergy between their units. I have a question though did they have the coranata? If you were fighting in their culture against the coronata with suppression aura active that may be why you were overwhelmed as that is going to be a hard thing to overcome without proper support

Hi phoenixst8r,

Yeah I might have been in their culture. Also as a general reply to the others. I did check their weapon strength and armour as well as hull. They had maximum tier one improvements, but so had I. They didn't have the coranata in my last encounter with them, but still they utterly destroyed me.

I will try to lay out the scenario for you all.

I attacked the next planet to mine. i had (roughly) 25 skirmishers, 15 assailants, 10 corvettes, 5 or 6 flak frigs, 5 or 6 overseers. For caps i had the egg, the carrier and the marauder.

They had about 25 of both disciples and illumis, 10 or so flakers, 3 or 4 swarm hosts and one Rapture support cap ship.

So I mean go figure. By my estimates (base on diplomacy of course) we had roughly equal fleets. Maybe the advents was stronger but that would have played out and become known over time. Instead my fleet where wasted and barley made a dent in theirs.

In any case thanks a lot for your comments guys. Great community here :)

Well actually they out gun you in terms of raw firepower. 15 more LRF is substantial, and those drone hosts have 3 squadrons each. Your fleet seems to be a bit too cap heavy. Capitalships are great for support, but with the possible exception of the Kortul, Marza, and carriers after they level up, do not have the stats to compete with 50 fleet supply of frigates. In a case like I say the AI has a better fleet.

Granted its a bit odd they took so few loses, with your egg and nano disassembler you should have been able to take out the Rapture at least with focus fire. The rapture does have Vertigo which is a powerful defensive ability though.

Well, it may not be that surprising...if he focused on their capital ship while they hit his fleet, and it was using vengeance...meh, idk, hard to say without a replay...

Those illuminators probably owned your skirmishers, also if the rapture had concentration aura it was probably powering up their SC, not to mention the culture stat boots they got

Funny part is Vasari rebels are OP and advent loyals are UP.

Your all making valid points. I would agree to most of them but for the speed in which my fleet was destroyed. Correct me if I'm wrong but the advent culture bonus is shield related no? Which would mean over time they might win, but it wasn't a long battle, it was over inside of a minute! Not my entire fleet but 60 to 70 percent losses.

I just don't know.

Noob question now, how can I post a reply?

In my documents, there's the folder called my games...ironclad, then sins, then some folder with auto record or something like that in the name...you'll have a bunch probably in there so use date and time to figure out which one...you can also watch replays in game, should be under single player...this can be useful for determining which replay to give and what time in the replay we should look at...

Wait....replay or reply?

lol, yeah it was replay.

but then how can I post it here for you all to watch? the file must be quote a few MBs in size?
