Choosing spells every level for champions


 Hola all. A quick comment/idea about champions and gaining spell levels. I find that having all champions with the same level of spell school ability, all having the exact same spells is kinda dull. What would make things much more interesting would be if, when a champion gains a spell level, you had him choose which spells he would learn. For example, when a champion gains a level and chooses level 3 fire, he would then be given a choice of four spells from which he would have to choose two. This would make things more interesting for a number of reasons.

   First, It would make each hero even more unique. You could have two heros with level three fire and water spells but have completely different spells. You would also be forceing players to make more choices which is what makes these games fun.

   Second, you could create spells that complement each other and use that as incentive to a) have two heroes choose different spells in the same spell school  and then b) group and level them together.

   Anyways just a thought. Have a good day all :)

What I'd like to see, is path of the Mage unlock spell professions, that would provide bonus spells to magic levels.

 

Like fire magic+ summoner= a stronger type of fire elemental at say Archmage

Earth Magic+ Mage= stoning spell

 

Some of the Book of Flames/Frost/Winds/Stones spells should those techs disappear should end up here.

 

Mage path is the strongest right now, so this would be a slight nerf, but an interesting nerf.

 

The three professions I'd use

Summoner= summons

Evoker= direct damage

whichever promotion gives mastery= other spells such as maledicts

 

If Stardock needs some ideas for other schools along those lines, I have plenty of ideas.
