How to kill the advent

I'm Vasari Rebels, and am playing on a medium 2v2v1 map where each team gets their own star system and there's one left over. Pretty much once the game started I took control of most of the planets in the system and built some starbases around my choke points. Then I sent my flying egg ship and colonized as many planets as I could from the unused system before anyone else, then I ate said planets. Somewhere during that process the other two teams had been sending little raid partys against me (the team of two were also Vasari, and the team of 1 was an advent player on the hardest difficulty). I was able to control them and had just started to build a decent sized fleet when they actually attacked me. Their fleet wasn't too big, but it was extremely effective. I had a titan and multiple cap ships in the stars grav well and I turn away for a second and they all die, the vrt's titan is arguably the worst titan in the game, but with a few caps near it, it should be able to survive for a little bit. The Advents fleet was primarily composed of a lot of illuminator vessels 6 level 6-8 caps, and towards the end a level 3 eradica. I had done about half of the military research for armor shields and weapons, but it wasnt helping. After my titan died I quickly built another one (with my thousands of planet eating credits) and about 7 cap ships (mostly kortuls, a few of the scorpion ships and one skirvanta carrier) which I trained to lvl3. On top of that I had about 40 corvettes and some LRF's, I sent them in through my phase gate to go help out one of my fully upgraded military star bases. They killed at most one enemy cap ship and several frigates. My starbases quickly fell afterwards without killing anything else and my outer worlds were captured.

What am I doing wrong? I just don't understand how the Advent player could stand up to all of my fleet, a little of my allies, and three fully upgraded star bases. What can I do to kill this guy?

-I'm not saying the Advent are op, Im just wondering how to beat them

Hahahahahaha.

Really dude, the Vasari Rebels are probably the most over powered faction right now (some say Vasari loyalists, but that more due to their economic and rush advantages). Only thing I can think of is you must have been sorely outnumbered or were just fighting inefficiently.

Vasari Rebels have the best phase missiles in the game. Phase Missiles chew through advent shields. Use a lot of them, especially to take out their capital ships (titan not so much, at level six if the Eradica dies just run).

Your titan's main ability in Nano leach. It heals its hull and antimatter in proportion to the number of enemy ships near it. Get in close to a large frigate fleet and you'll be almost invincible (some overseers and a skinantra with repair cloud can ensure it survivies between ability cast). At higher levels it will also keep enemy regeneration under control and can shut down support cruisers.

One thing your titan sucks at is raw damage out put. Fortunately Vasari rebels can overcome this with their phase jumping starbases. Build a starbase in the next gravity well over, max out weapons and eventually hull, then warp in with your fleet a blow a lot of stuff up. Its OP as heck but it works.

Oops, wrong faction. I meant Vasari Loyalist, the one with the huge teleporting sting ray. And as far as fleets go, mine appeared to outnumber them at the beginning, at the end... not so much.

Ah yes, yeah their titan isn't so great. If you're going Vasari Loyalists, you either need to rush by getting striped to the core as fast as possible, eat as many unimportant planets as you can grab, then use the money to build a ton of ships and start steam rolling people in under an hour, or going all out, quickly taking enemy worlds with lots of siege frigates, then striping them before the enemy can stop you. Or preferably both. They don't have a lot of strength in direct combat so a faction like the Advent Rebels will have the edge on them their, but the usual Vasari strength of phase missiles and caps like the Skinatra, Jarrasul and the Kortul are still good to fall back on.

I see a general lack of flak in your fleet.  Flak do well against LRF.  Also, if they're bringing in that many high level capitals, spam bombers.  Critical mass bombers > all.  If they have a Halcyon, knock that out first.

Also, you don't need that many Kortuls.  Kortuls are good because of Jam Weapons and Disruptive Strikes (though for reasons I don't understand, they think the weapon cooldown on Power Surge is a huge boon to their fleet's damage output).  It doesn't sound like they had that many SC and you probably didn't need that much AM drain, though against Advent, you'll want some.  You should have had more Skirantras.  Repair Cloud is a spectacular heal ability, not only does it heal hull quite well, but it also heals your SC, helping you maintain air supremacy.

On top of everything else, unless your titan has unlocked The Maw, you shouldn't be having it in heavy combat as it frankly sucks at it.  Also, since you are playing as VL, you can always strip a few worlds near the border so the enemy has to phase jump repeatedly to get to you, draining their AM in the process.

Since you were defending, you should have had a culture bonus.  Unless they have the culture bonus, the Advent are very weak to phase missiles, so Assailants and Bombers are your best friends.  Subverters are also very good for taking down enemy frigates, though it sounds like at this point you're more into the late-game capital battles, so use fewer LRF/corvettes and more Bombers/Overseers/Enforcers.

Enforcers for the VL become downright devastating because wave cannons can be upgraded to +70% damage, making them the most powerful frigate in the game as far as straight DPS goes.  In capital fights, you'll also want both levels of Reintegration for your Enforcers because they'll be under a lot of pressure from incoming DPS from Chastic Burst and the like.

Spread your fleet out as much as possible so that Chastic Burst+Malice doesn't nuke everything.

The Eradica is weakest from it's sides.  Flanking it will reduce the DPS it can deal to your fleet.

Throw your Orky straight into the heart of the enemy fleet (make sure it has both levels of Debris Vortex).  This will allow all 16 bank targets of the Orky to fire.  When maxed, that's about 2000 DPS pouring into the enemy fleet and about a third of that is Phase Missiles which as mentioned before is great against Advent ships.

It takes a specially forged fleet to take down a "Fracture,Malice, chastic burst,Psionic Scream and Energy Amplify Aura Combo. Not only is it a very high dps combo but psionic scream deals damage and disables abilities on all your caps and frigates for some time.

Its best you practice creating a similar counter combination of your own fleet because as you can see the abilities i have mentioned are all Area of attack on all targets in range and destroy fleets and titans very quickly.

e.g high level Fracture can lower all units and titans armor by -5 - turning them into paper planes.

OK I can Attest to the power of nano leech. I'm and advent player and i had a fleet comprising of 2 radiance, 2 progenitor's, one halcyon, and one rapture and a  eradica at level 6 with 43 illuminators 20 disciples and 15 defence frigates and 10 guardian's. I destroyed its fleet with ease but nano leech kept it alive with repair rate exceeding 1000 per sec at the max. I killed it but it took 45 min at least. My caps survived my frigates and cruisers not so much and only my rapture being destroyed and my one Radiance taking heavy damage. I almost forgot all cap shipswere above lvl 6, 4 were lvl 9 and 10. Op does not describe that titan its just plain wrong.

They should reduce the range of nano leach by 15%
