[0.914] criticals in the thousands, why?

Perhaps the critical hit mechanic needs some rethinking? Several of my champions regularly critted for more than 1K, reaching up to 3.4K at times (with grow and giant form), starting from a base attack value of 25-30. Note that I did not have any real end-game weapons apart from the Assassin Blade, and it was quite a frequent occurence seeing absurd numbers during a large part of the late game.

Is it intentional that you have a non-marginal chance of killing any enemy in one hit? Note that these huge crits go both ways, in the sense that I was also on the receiving end a few times - *splotch*, and there goes my full-health, armored hero...

Well I'll move mine here...what are the odds.  :p

Yeah I'm not sure how crits are calculated, I assume that the % to crit is straight off the value.  And I assume the crit damage is supposed to be "base plus 100%(1+bonus)".  But yeah, that's clearly not happening.  I guess maybe I was hit for 2k myself, i thought 200 but I have had the animations set high to get enemy armies back on their feet after a ?Titans breath?.  This appears to make the damage float faster too.

But it is inconsistent. My pet dog has critted for 4 against an armored prone target (effective armor 9 I think it was) when he normally hits for 1 or 2.  I had my archer who hits anywhere from 4-7 or ~14 vs unarmored hit for 200+.  And recently had a 27ish attack hit for 700+.

I feel bad since if I crit I let it go, don't feel like redoing a battle.  But if they crit, reload.  Had an enemy champion wipe out 3 of mine when they crit 3x in a row, one attack and two counters.  Was able to check after and see she had a 15 crit chance.

I haven't seen crits in the thousands, but I did see a rather early crit of 160 amongst normal hits of 7-8.

Yes, crits are out of control, dishing out damages orders or magnitude bigger than normal attacks. This needs revision, it is making combat excessively random

Not that I'd mind assassin characters doling out 4x damage, but a random counter attack from Ceresa doing 200 damage to a warrior champion with 50 armor is a bit strange.

Patch log for 0.915 mentioned that crit for assassins is giving 100% more damage than it is suppose to, so they have toned it down a bit, but I still think it needs a bit lowering. What I'd like to see is for crit to be considered AFTER armor instead of before armor. Right now, crit seems to just multiply attack, so even if you are heavily armored, it doesn't help too much (because attack multiplied becomes so much higher than your armor). If it instead multiply the resulting damage instead (after armor reduced the attack) it probably wouldn't be too bad even if it was several 100% more.

I'd be ok with those crit values, if they just were path of the assassin crits, but normal crits shouldn't do that.
