wincustomize.com site

Hi there I would like to get more dreams for deskscapes from the wincustomize.com site but all I get is an ad from Dick Smiths on the screen which has an X in the corner but it doesn't exit the ad. It just repeats over and over but does not close.

If I open Deskscapes and click the "Get More Backgrounds" tab and chose either the animated or static background download option it opens wincustomize.com. It then shows a Flash advert for Dick Smiths and blanks out the wincustomize site. The ad has an X in the corner that doesn't exit when I click it. Therefore I cannot view the wincustomize site.

There's been reports/complaints, on IRC, about just that ad.
Subscription or not, access shouldn't be 'blocked' by ads, really.

Try opening your Internet browser and click on the link in #1 ... https://www.wincustomize.com/explore/dream ...;)

Your thread here [this one] means you're already accessing forums.wincustomize.com via your browser ...so you're halfway there....;)

I can't seem to get that ad to come up.  HP should be the main ad showing as an overlay.

Yes - the main page gets the ad - if I use another forum link or other page I'm able to get in here. And it's dick smith ad for me too. I got around it by 'scrolling down' - the ad stayed in the upper half of the page.

If I scroll down it follows me down too. Still doesn't exit the advert when I click the X.

If you click X and then scroll it seems to help not following down.

Even I get that ad sometimes.  It pops up when going to the site and you cannot close it. I hit refresh though and it went away and then I could log in (which is weird because I never logged out).  If I remember correctly the last ad that came up like that was for HP.

If someone can screenshot it that would be helpful.

Jafo was able to screenshot it and I'm contacting the people to fix it.  Thanks. :)

The browser extension "Do Not Track +" kills that ad.

Yep...it affects IE9 and Chrome ....[I didn't have others].

Thanks, ID ...;)

Of course....I never logout...so I miss these dramas...;)

Well they couldn't have the Or Stray Liens getting caught by nasty evil ads that wouldn't let them in....not when one of the Admins comes from down under.....;)
