Downloading updates

I can't even find a place to get them

I recently bought a new computer and in a fit on nostalgia, I decided to dust off my old copy of Galactic Civs 2 and install it. Installation went wonderfully and the game is working at version 1.0. I am, however, having a great deal of trouble getting the latest updates for it. I've emailed support 3 days ago and aside from the automated response, I haven't heard a thing from them. If anyone here can help me, that would be awesome. Thanks.

What is the ticket # you received?

If were talking just the base game, then updates would need to go through Impulse/Gamestop (http://www.impulsedriven.com/downloads/impulse_setup.exe).  Have you ever registered your serial number with any kind of account, either through Impulse or Stardock?

I honestly can't remember if I ever registered it. I've had it so long that I can't even remember exactly when or where I got it. That's not as bad as it sounds though, I have a box of PC games that I've collected over the years. I counted them one time and there were over sixty, as I recall. It's just hard to keep up with where all of them came from, but I bought them all new, I know that. There's not really a market for used PC games, which is why I still have almost every PC game that I've ever bought.

And that link you provided is working nicely. Thank you very much. ---- Well nevermind. It's telling me that my product code is invalid. I've tripple checked and checked another half dozen times to make sure that I input it correctly. I don't know why it would be saying invalid, unless I did register it before. I honestly can't remember.

Email support@stardock.com with your email and the serial.  We'll see if we can figure it out.

Most likely you registered it to an old email or something along those lines.  Happens all the time.  Give support@stardock.com a shout with your serial and any email addresses you may have used, and we'll sort it out.

I sent it in, but like I said in the ticket update, having to jump through a bunch of hoops just to get a game update is more than a little perturbing. I'm not asking for a free expansion or anything like that, just the latest update to the base game which I have owned for years. That said, I do appreciate the help that I am getting and I understand you guys are probably just following procedure but that doesn't make it any less perturbing.
