Clink?

What does it mean when it happens in combat? Is it a sound of metal weapon hitting the armor, or does it mean the opponent parried? Or did the blow was not strong enough to hit?

+ New type of damage: Ping. This is when a unit hits another unit, is stopped by armor but still does 1 tactical battle damage.  (Ping damage displayed as "Klink" in battle)

Should it do one point of damage per unit in a group so a three man squad clinks for 3 damage when it attacks ? (I defineately mean the number of attackers, not number of defenders in a group)

Nevertheless, it's a bit silly as a form of feedback and should be precisely defined.

sillyness of the feedback aside, what do you think of the idea ? i find it odd when i do 1 damage on the attack - i think to mysef -  UHG i didnt even get a ping sound !!

perhaps a minimum damage should be 2 and then we have the ping for dramatic effect for one damage, although i prefer 1 damage per attacker in a unit - a five man squad pings for three and a 5 man for five (for comparison, that 5 man squad with a minimum damage of 2 on a normal hit would be striking for 10 damage)

is it damage rolled - armour rolled ? +bonus defence for damage type or bonus defence rolled for damage type - uhg i need a sticky for this info

I imagine CLINK is what a sword landing on an opponents plate armor would sound like.

End of Glowing_Ember's quote

IMHO: In the early game a minimum of 2 -> minimum of 6 for a troop of 3 would be too much damage for the lowly scout-enemy unit that happens to succeed at getting through to the target.

true, early game that 6 points would be too much - hmm - I think were butting heads against the dynanics of the #'s of a group in a unit. I'm really thinking that the clink effect should work as an overpower attack where each person in the target unit takes a point of damage - but should that be limited by the #'s of the attcking group so if a 3 man group attacks a 5 man group and clinks then 3 damage is dealt, and if a 5 man group attacks a 3 man group and clinks they also do 3 damage.

thats what I had more in mind.
