Is SoSE still alive?

It's been 1 and half year since I stopped playing SoSE because of its lack of players

I was lurking around Steam store and spotted Rebellion SoSE coming up in June. I didn't expect Stardock relied on Steam to sell their game.

My questions are:

1. Is SoSE still alive? I mean the community and player base.

2. I just read Rebellion's new features, there's a spark of interest inside my mind now to play SoSE again. Is it worth to PO Rebellion?

 

FYI, I switched to Starcraft II, but I found it very fast-paced compared to SoSE, well I dislike super fast-paced RTS. I wasted 70$ POing SC II *sigh*

That time I missed SoSE epic gameplay

We are still here and on active days we've seen up to 300 players online.

SOASER IIRC was 118th on Steam the other day with almost a thousand players on at a time.
