TEC Loyalist Starbase Strategy work around

Big maps have been giving me two star bases to utilize and I am trying to see what strategies seem to be working with human players.

Entrenchment usually involved me placing my star base close in to my planet where it could defend me structures.

Rebellion Loyalist have been giving me lots of possibilities.

If a planet has only one route from the enemy, I usually have been trying to place them both forward to cover the 2 warp in locations.   If I can get a little warning I try to have an Akkan, Dunov and 2 Cielo and 10 Hoshikkos with my Fighter ports providing limited flak coverage. If I have the points I thow in some Garuda too as a system defense fleet.

It works surprisingly well if the Dunov can set off the EMP burst and magnatize to disable the Cap ships abilities while the Akkan extends the range of the bases and disables ships. With the Cielo there to direct fire it has been surprisingly devastating to 400+ command point fleets. Leaving only the Titan alive when the dust settles.

Throw in mines and some system turrets and even the Ragnarok has gone down pretty fast. Occasionally my opponents will strike my jump inhibitor, so I now build two. Also following them back to their system with just the Dunov and Akkan let me create massive casualties on their Severely weakened ships from jump destabilization.

Now my "friends" are using this strat against me and I have not come up with a good work around yet.  Coming out of hyperspace leaves my ships to slow to get out quikcly and even If I try to push past the bases they kill my support ships leaving me unsupported and unable to leave. If I leave I die.

At this point my Orgrovs and Hoshikkos, and all frigates are dead. My cap ships have been beaten down and if I don't have my Kols I'm facing swarms of 30sh bomber squadrons. Add in the ion cannon and EMP burst and magnetize which usually locks my Kols down. I'm helpless. I have lost 12 Cap ships, Titan, and 90 frigates/cruisers.  Even if I win I'm open to massive retaliation.

That's if Last resort left me anything.

Loyalist TEC has indeed become a tough nut to crack. Maybe staggering your attacks by sending in a small but respectable force in first making them commit then send in a big wave afterwards might help. Send the Titan in first of course.

Basically you need to start drawing lines across the map and try to get into a position where you've got a much better income than him/them.  You need to get just as dug in as him, and either wait for him to toss his fleet away trying to attack you or start building disposable fleets to suicide into his defenses before you bring your main fleet in.

I could be wrong, though, since I usually don't play against people.

Really wish they added an entity modifier that increased the number of SB upgrade slots...

Not that I want them to remove the # of SBs modifier...want both of course...

It really comes down to last resort. The Ragnarok can kill a SB pretty quick but if the guy knows what he is doing, you will take grievous losses before he uses last resort.  I even killed him before he got Last resort off with Overcharge and snipe in one system.

Once you crack the left nut, the right one is a lot easier to deal with.  Although waiting for reinforcements is usually necessary as Last resorts range is larger than Orgrov's without an Akkan.  Having Bombers is very necessary to deal with that one feature. Bomber spam has killed more than one SB after my fleet was wiped out.

The Ankylon can deal with this problem a whole lot better. Even with Upgraded last resort wont kill a fleet an Ankylon is defending. Although the slower nature of damage gives the person pushing the button a lot more freedom to choose when to push it.

Using rebel alliance to send in a ton of fodder to clear mines and tie up the SB has worked pretty well too. Also the pirate main fleet will move to support you if they are still around.  2 titans works enormously well, even if the other one was AI controlled.  My Ragnarok and an Ankylon goes through an opposing team mate super fast with very little down time.

I like to send in my main fleet to move the enemy fleet away from their buildings as a distraction then I send inmy torpedoes drag naught and other building destroyers. I the fleet notices I leave and try again since the enemy is no weakened.

What I do is I build a large corvett fleet (the only use i have for them) and have them blow up every single mine they can after that I send in a Large fleet with about 6 or 7 cap ships with nothing but lrms and garudas they will draw the fire then i send in the rest with my titan and orgarovs. since the titan is a moving cannon and starbase i use it to defend the ogarovs focusing on the right while the other fleet focuses on the left by that time the orgarovs have finished 1 starbase and the other is still there beating it out against my fleet i send them over to finish it off then use them to attack the buildings. After that you get the idea. Thats just my strategy ive used it against humans too and it works you just have to play smart.
